Put your mouse on "download the file", click and save it to your hard drive. This program requires a password that the author requests is kept "secret" for the Field Day Site. We have received "special permission" to use the software at BOTH locations using different calls.

Dave, apparently, the files section is only available in the ADMIN section. I have made a link to the software so that it can be downloaded directly from the original post. I have not figured out how to make the files available, yet. I am still reading the documentation. Once I figure it out, I will post it.

OK, from what I read, you can make links to files within the posts. There is, apparently, no "files" section.

I down loaded the software, but it is only good for 20 contacts unless registered. Will we be registered as a club or will we need to register each piece of software?

PS - Ray, thanks for the great blog site. Why aren't others using it? We could get so much accomplished.

The software has been registered for Club use by the Club, for the Club. I also have permission from the author to use it at BOTH field day sites. The software is designed to be used on multiple computers and share the same database on a server over a network. This helps prevent dupes and also helps prevent stations from being on the same band at the same time.

I have two wireless routers that I plan to use, one as a primary and one as a backup. I also plan to have another computer as the file host. I believe the data file is also stored on the local computer in case of network failure.

If your laptop does not have wireless capability, a wired connection can also be used.

We need to get this equipment together and make sure everything is working BEFORE we head up to Miramonte.

The registration information can be sent via email, or on a CD. I am almost out of blanks, but can bring my CD to the meeting and make copies on my laptop. I can also burn DVD's if it is preferred.

P.S. Thanks for the compliment. It is actually quite easy, but it does take some time. However, it takes less time as I learn more about it. As to why others aren't using it, I really can't answer that. While I can take credit for the work, I cannot take credit for the idea. I just implemented it.

Ray, will you send the registration information to me by e-mail. I don't know yet if I will take my laptop or not as I am having some issues with it.
